The Busiest Day of the Year for Plumbers?

It’s Black Friday! If you’re a retailer, you love Black Friday.
If you’re a consumer shopping for bargains, you probably love Black Friday. And if you are a plumber, you definitely like Black Friday. An article on abcnews.com states that Black Friday - the day after Thanksgiving Day - is one of the biggest days of the year for plumbers.

Plumbers say that their business on Black Friday is often as much as 50% above a normal Friday. And what are all these plumbers called out to do on Black Fridays? Remove kitchen stoppages, that’s what. People have guests over for that huge Thanksgiving dinner, and they try to force leftover food and scraps down the drain or into the garage disposal unit. Force too much material into your drains and you will need to make that call to your plumber.

Plumbers suggest that people limit what they throw into their sinks or garbage disposals when they have a large group of guests over for the holidays. They suggest you throw food into the garbage can or start a compost heap if you have a yard. And make sure your sinks are fitted with a basket strainer – a device which prevents food particles from entering and stopping up the drain.
